We are sorry that Hastings Writers Room has now closed.
Thank you to all those who entered our competitions in the past, and to the judges who took part. You can still see details of these on the Competitions pages.
Hastings Writers Room is a not-for-profit organisation which was established to offer a range of in-person courses for authors at all stages of their writing careers, from complete beginners seeking a ‘taster’ half-day tutorial to those wanting the focus of a more intensive residential writing break.
Courses are currently suspended until Covid restrictions are relaxed. We have taken a decision not to provide online/virtual courses as, whilst these are useful and can be excellent, we do not believe they offer the same quality of writing experience as working together with a tutor in a shared physical space.
HWR also runs writing competitions which continue to be very popular, offering prizes and that all-important feedback from the judges for every shortlisted entrant. Our judges are all professional published writers and/or tutors in their own areas of expertise.
One-to-one bespoke sessions can also be arranged to suit the individual. All courses are led by experienced and qualified tutors and authors. Please use the contact form for enquiries.
Hastings Old Town Writing Group is an informal group for local writers (East Sussex) who wish to discuss and share their work. Meetings are currently suspended but will re-start as soon as possible.
